ACS modernizes its metrology equipment

A Step Further Toward Precision and Innovation

At ACS, we are committed to continuously improving our metrology tools and methods in order to work more efficiently and achieve even greater measurement accuracy.

With this in mind, we have recently acquired two new pieces of equipment: the LM-X100L, a next-generation measurement system from the KEYENCE range, and a SMARTSCOPE, developed and manufactured by OGP.

The LM-X100L is an advanced measurement system that combines high-resolution imaging, micrometric precision, and fast execution. It enables Z-axis (volumetric) measurements using confocal technology (a laser passing through a lens that captures only photons from a selected Z distance).
In practical terms, it allows us to perform reliable, repeatable, and instantaneous dimensional inspections while simplifying the work of our teams. This equipment supports both production control (Good/No-Go) in serial manufacturing and in-depth analysis to continuously improve our processes.

The SMARTSCOPE uses a high-resolution camera and a telecentric lens, enhanced by intelligent lighting to handle 2D measurements. It is also equipped with multiple tactile probes that complement 3D measurement capabilities. The entire system is driven by metrology software that enables program creation and comparison between actual measurements and CAD data.

We have also taken this opportunity to reorganize our measurement laboratory by adding storage space and expanding the work area. Qualification files, precise measurements, SPC monitoring, and capability studies are part of ACS’s daily operations.

These two measurement systems represent a significant asset in meeting the increasingly demanding quality requirements of our customers.
